Dr. Michael "The Lie Detector Guy" Martin has been a polygraph examiner since the 1980's and has completed over 7,000 examinations of all types. He has appeared over 350 times on national television as a polygraph expert since 1987. Some of these shows include WNBC News, Sci-Fi Channel's Proof Positive, Sally Jessy Raphael, Ricki Lake, Maury Povich, 20/20, 48 Hours, Dr. Joy Browne, Forgive or Forget, Morton Downey Jr., Richard Bey, and many many more. Dr. Martin will also travel to virtually anywhere in the world to provide testing services. Testing is available on virtually any legitimate issue, including thefts, relationships, child abuse/neglect, drug/alcohol abuse, arson, sexual assault, homicide, and insurance claims.

Dr. Martin holds memberships in the American Polygraph Association, the Pennsylvania Polygraph Examiner's Association, the Maryland Polygraph Association, and he is certified as a Post-Conviction Sex Offender Examiner. Martin has also been certified as a court-approved polygraph expert. Martin has received training at the New York School of Lie Detection, the Maryland Institute of Criminal Justice, Lion Investigation Academy, Rider University, and holds an honorary Doctor in Psychology. Dr. Martin holds a private pilot certificate and flies his Mooney Executive anywhere his services are needed.

Columbine High School massacre - Dr. Martin tested 3 young men suspected by law enforcement of involvement with the shooters at the high school. Results were "no deception indicated" to denial of involvement in the shootings.

Robert Chambers "Preppie Murder" case - Dr. Martin tested Chambers' cell mate who claimed Chambers had confessed the intentional murder to him while in prison. Results were "deception indicated" to the cellmate having received this confession.

Joann Katrinak murder case - Dr. Martin tested convicted murderer Patricia Rorrer in a defense bid for a new trial.  Results were "deception indicated" to Rorrer having committed the murders.

Jon Benet Ramsey murder case - Dr. Martin was the MSNBC polygraph expert providing commentary and analysis of John and Patsy Ramsey's independent polygraph exams.

Chandra Levy case - Dr. Martin was the Fox News Network polygraph expert providing commentary and analysis of Gary Condit's polygraph exams concerning Levy's disappearance.

Mike Tyson paternity suit - Dr. Martin tested a plaintiff in a paternity suit against Mike Tyson claiming she was raped by the boxer in a hotel room. Results were DI (deception indicated) to the allegation that she had sex with Tyson against her will.
